Don't let it sit there! This is a beautiful picture book of calls, with enough history for me. I wish I had read Harlan' s Duck Calls of Illinois first to get a wider knowledge of the field. Now I have both books, and am learning a lot about a new field for me. Form follows function and these carvers were certainly artists.
An excellent book on Arkansas calls. Great info on makers and excellent photos. Highly recommend!
I preordered the book and it came on schedule. WOW! This book is first class in every regard. The material, design, text, and photography are superb. I have a number of books on this subject, and this is the best yet. I highly recommend it. Lewis has done a magnificent job.

I collect calls and concentrate on Arkansas calls. This book is the best reference book anyone could ask for. The stories of the older call makers are excellent and fun reading. The pictures are so clear it seems the calls could be held in your hand. I have been waiting on a book like this and this it one is just what I have wanted. I highly recommended it to anyone interested in duck hunting, call collecting, wildlife, hunting history, or just enjoys a well done book.
