I was enjoying this book and working on it diligently until I came to pay 98. Page 98 there is a paragraph wherein someone talks about learning to be alone and their hardships.. How they had to move into an apartment that does not allow pets... and so they put down their 2 cats and one dog!! Did not take to a shelter (that would have been bad) but instead decided to end their lives... Is that EVEN LEGAL?? It does not say if they were old or sick or anything just normal pets.. This is just glazed over as if its normal and the "poor person" that had to have their animals put down.. How about finding a DIFFERENT Apartment? How about a no kill shelter... Any author that would think this is ok to promote or represent loses all respect from me. There were some other things that were ridiculous that I let slide but for me this was the last straw.

This was described as being useful for relationship/love abandonment but was also supposed to be supportive and helpful for other experiences of loss such as: a death, loss of friendship, health, a job or a dream (so says the book's back cover). As far as I could see, every case history story in the book was about the loss of a partner/lover. Terrific book if dealing with being alone after a breakup, almost useless for any other type of loss. I read the author's earlier book and I believe that was broader in scope, dealing with relationships but also other situations of loss and ending.

I cannot say enough positive things about this book. Just the right amount of reading, reflecting, and journaling; you can obviously choose to do as much or as little of that as you want. It is not a bunch of stories about other people, more about finding your own healthy path. This book is all about YOU, for you and about you. If you want to improve yourself and become a healthier person, I believe this book will be a wonderful guide.

This is a very well done workbook with really helpful information. I believe anyone can benefit from the information within. All humans fear abandonment to one degree or another and the tools this book offers help empower anyone to better navigate life's difficulties.
