Flora Kinsley needs to feel free. She has difficulty dealing with the loss of her parents even thought many years have passed. Will that feeling never go away? Riding her horse in the Montana wilderness is usually relaxing, but this time things don’t go as planned. A snowstorm catches her by surprise and now she’s lost. The good news is that she finds shelter at Kade’s homestead. The bad news is that she is forced to stay with him overnight. Now her reputation is tarnished and her father, the preacher, is forcing her and Kade to marry. What are they to do? Flora is an interesting character. She lost her parents as a child and it turned her into a strong and determined woman. She and Kade clash. He thinks she’s reckless and she thinks that he’s to cautious. I enjoyed seeing them really get to really know each other as they wait out the snow storm. I liked Flora and Kade. I connected with them. They are good, honest people. The story is well written and filled with true and honest emotions. The dialogue is realistic. I was pulled into this sweet romance. Linda Ford has a writing style that is easy to read. Loving a Rebel made me feel good.
** spoiler alert ** This starts off fairly fast and right into the story. You might Flora as she is lost in a snowstorm away from home. She eventually finds shelter at Kade's house. You can tell right away that both of these characters do not care for each other. They are cordially especially after realizing Flora is going to have to spend the night, which is a big no-no back in this day and age for unmarried people of different genders. They both agree they can't tell her family what happens because they will be forced to marry. I won't give too much away, but her family finds out and Kane has to spend some time courting her. As with all romantic novels, they do fall in love and love happily ever after.There is tons of depth to this book being a Christian based book. Tons of character development, but it doesn't make the book seem long or boring. The author hits a good mix of adventure , romance, and growth to make the book very intriguing. While there is not sex in the book, you definitely can tell from the writing that there are some strong feelings between Flora and Kade.
I can't begin to tell you how much I love Linda Fords Books. She has fast become one of my favorite authors. Her books have a unique quality to them, well developed characters and a vivid well written story. This is no exception. Flora is the adopted daughter of the town preacher. She is also the feisty britches wearing free spirited young girl who could careless what others think much to her fathers dismay. Kade has his own dislike for free spirited risk takers and wants nothing more than to be left alone. So when Flora finds herself being chased in a blinding snow storm the last place she expected to end up was Kades front door! This book makes you feel so good long after you read it. Seriously. Loving A Rebel is the first in this series and I can't wait for the next book. I did received this exclusive ARC copy in from Hidden Gems in exchange for an honest review. That being said I also purchased it I like it that much. I highly recommend this author Linda Ford and this book.
I received this book as a free digital copy for an honest review! This story was so good! A nice breath of fresh air! I love how innocent it is. I didn't have to worry if my kids were reading over my shoulder or if they wanted me to read this story out loud to them! A cute and innocent romance! I love how emphasized the scenes were described! Especially the waterfall scene! What a great place to get away! I love the companionship was between Flora and Kade! How they became unexpected friends and how they worked together through some pretty deep stuff and that friendship turned into love. This is how romance should be! My only thing.. and it's a tiny detail, is that some of the scenes felt rushed. like when they made a cake and all of a sudden BAHM it's done! I know it's a book, but baking a cake is no effortless task! That's just an example! Nonetheless I am giving it 5 stars!!
I received this book for an honest review from Hidden Gems.Flora is an independent young woman who wants to feel free. She’s still having trouble with the loss of her parents, who passed away years earlier. She wasn’t expecting a snow storm while she was out riding her horse and finding herself terribly lost, she finds a place to stay with Kade. Unfortunately, she has to stay the night and that one night ruins her. Now the preacher demands she and Kade marry!I’m usually one who greatly enjoys a good steamy scene, but I admit there are occasions where a sweet romance with no hot scenes can leave me satisfied with a story. I loved this story and I love that it takes place in Montana, a state I greatly love, and wish to live in some day. I am wanting to read more from this series and see if they will make me as happy as this story did.
Wow, I really liked Loving a Rebel. Flora is the rebel in this story. She is trapped in the home of Kade Thomas during a storm - just Flora and Kade, no chaperone. Her Pa insists they have to marry; her reputation is at stake. Of course Flora refuses. During his time with Flora, Kade has changed from disapproving of Flora to seeing what she brings to his life. He convinces her Pa to give him time to win her over rather than force her. Kade courts Flora. During all this, they learn so much about each other but about themselves as well, what they want, need and who they are.This was a good, clean story - I totally enjoyed it and highly recommend it.I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.
