Material is very similar to the actual test. No spelling or grammatical errors. Thoroughly developed explanations. I would definitely recommend to buy this book.
Best purchase I’ve had so far. This book helps me so much. The math is explained very good. It gives you problems and shows how to solve them. Definitely would recommend. Best purchase I have made. Thank you so much tariq. I’ve seen my diagnostic test score increase tremendously. I used to be getting 350’s on my diagnostics and after using this book for a month my score has been increased to 600’s. My highest score was a 674. Over the last 4 tests I’ve tooken I’ve got scores of 634,659,674,663. Also my ELA was very poor. Out of 50 questions I would get 15 right. After using this book I get 1 or 2 questions wrong. Tariq's intense material was a major factor in helping me get into Stuyvesant High School. It's great for anyone who wants one book that can cover everything they need to know and can get them prepared for the SHSAT. I've tried many other books, but Tariq's material is more effective than that of any other book out there.The book covers all SHSAT topics very well. It challenges you, but at the same time, you learn everything you need to know for the test and more. The practice tests help give you a feel of what taking the test will really be like. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to do well on their SHSAT and it will definitely help them get into the school of their choice.
I'm very surprised that the book was written so poorly at such a premium price point ($60???). The reading passages have tons of grammatical errors (run-on sentences, etc) and the vocabulary is beyond the difficulty of the SHSAT exam.The math contains topics that are no longer pertain to the exam and the difficulty is far too great. I'd give it a slightly higher score if it wasn't such an expensive book (2-stars).Definitely don't recommend.
Great book. I had bought this for my brother to help him out for the SHSAT and it did wonders. He would alwaysget frustrated by a textbook he's been given at his school but with this one, he was reading it like a novel. Definitely recommend to anyone that needs the extra help to prepare for their tests!
